Shoppers looking for sustainable, hand-made Christmas gifts will be in for a festive treat at Cherry Tree Nursery’s Christmas Fayre on Saturday 15th November.

Rising demand for artisan, natural gifts that stand the test of time has prompted the return of the popular fayre, which promises an atmosphere packed with Christmas cheer – accompanied by live music from The Real Deal and Rod Bush, along with a raffle, local produce and plenty of delicious tea and cakes.

Visitors will find everything from hand-made Christmas decorations to jewellery, art, toys, stained glass, garden ironwork and much more.

Cherry Tree Nursery, at Northbourne in Bournemouth, is run by the charity Plants and Minds, with all proceeds supporting adults with life-impacting mental health conditions.

Maria Tidy, Community Liaison Officer at Plants and Minds, said: “A visit to Cherry Tree’s Christmas Fayre is the perfect way to start the countdown to the festive season. Our line-up of exhibitors will be offering a fabulous assortment of festive, arty and crafty treats, along with refreshments to keep everyone warm and happy. Bring your friends and family, enjoy the festive atmosphere and support a great cause!”

Festive treats for all the family

Don’t miss the stall by Cherry Tree’s Team Members, where an assortment of treats including cards and coasters will support the nursery’s travel fund. With bus fares on the rise, the fund helps Team Members who don’t drive to get to the nursery by public transport, ensuring they can continue to attend therapeutic horticulture at Cherry Tree.

Exhibitors booked for the fayre include Wonderlust Wishes/The Christmas Eve Box Company, which will be offering Christmas Eve Boxes and fillers, while Sue Helliker will display hand-made Christmas decorations. Visitors will also find hand-made Christmas gifts and toys, crocheted and knitted baby clothes by Debbie Penfold.

For those seeking crafty gifts, make sure to visit Lorna’s Little Luxuries – beautiful jewellery crafted by hand using sustainably sourced silver. Heidi’s Stained Glass will feature traditional leaded and hand-painted stained glass, while Lesley and Suzzie Dellow will have plenty of inspirational ideas with their creative home crafts. And don’t miss Mellow Designs by Mel for hand-made jewellery, gifts and seasonal items.

Check out local artists Margaret Hasted and Sally-Ann Staples, who use the Dorset Landscape for their inspiration. Garden-lovers will find hand-crafted metal flower supports, garden obelisks, fire pits and garden art by Firefly Metalworks.

Free daffodil bulbs!

The Cherry Tree team will also showcase its new, stylish ranges of giftware in the nursery’s shop – including gardening gloves, tools and garden-themed travel cups and drinks bottles. The first 50 customers to spend £10 or more at the nursery on Christmas Fayre day, 15th November, can pick up a FREE bag of Narcissus Double Mix bulbs!

The Christmas Fayre comes shortly before Cherry Tree’s range of premium Nordmann Fir non-drop Christmas trees go on sale to the public from 22 November, with all proceeds supporting the charitable nursery’s mental health activities.

The Christmas Fayre runs from 10am until 2pm pm Saturday 15 November. Cherry Tree Nursery can be found off the New Road Roundabout at Northbourne, Bournemouth, Dorset BH10 7DA. Call 01202 593537 or visit www.plantsandminds.org.uk.
