Site Information

Can I bring dogs/guide dogs on site?

We are happy for responsible dog owners to bring their dogs into the festival site. All dogs must be on leads at all times, due to the nature of the event site and the event taking place to fields full of cattle. Please clean up after your dog and if your dog is off of the lead, you will be asked to leave the festival site immediately. Guide dogs are always accepted.

Is parking available on site?

There is limited parking available at the festival site and is on a first come, first served basis and this is free of charge. Alternative parking can be found in Wimborne Minster Town which is around a 10-minute walk from the site but please note that there is no footpath at Julian's Bridge. Please do not park adjacent to the festival site in any laybys or on the verges along the B3078, Julian's Road.

Is there a bus route available to the festival site?

There is a selection of bus services available to the site including a direct route from Wimborne/Poole which is provided by and is route 3. Other routes available are route 4 from Poole (some route 4's go past the event site in the evening & Sunday's) and route 13 from Bournemouth/Parley/Ferndown & Colehill. Alternatively, travel from Bournemouth/Winton/Bearwood & Merley with route 6. See full information via the bus companies website for more information.

Is there a printed programme available?

Yes! Our printed programme will be available at our Information Point at the enterance to the festival and from our festival makers around the site. The programme includes details of our events across both days, offers and other important info and is included in your ticket.

Is there camping available on site across the weekend?

For 2021 we will not have a campsite available on site but there are local campsites, hotels and B&B's available if you would like to make a weekend of it. Visit for more information.

Is there an enterance fee?

Entry is £1 for anyone aged 6 years old or over. 5 years old and under are free entry.

Is there a cash machine available on site?

Due to the rural location, there is no cashpoint available on site. The nearest cash point can be found in Wimborne high street which is around a 10-minute walk from the site. Note: Some traders will have card machines but we highly recommend bringing cash with you on the day.

Where is the festival site situated?

Our festival site is located at The Meadows, Julian's Road, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 3DH and you can find full details on how to find the site and transport information here. Please note that there is one enterance in and out of the site and this will be used by vehicles and pedestrians across the day.

Will I be able to come and go during the day?

As our festival is free, you will be able to come and go throughout the day. Please note that if you leave the site via a vehicle, due to limited parking available we may not have parking available when you arrive back on site and the nearest alternative parking is in Wimborne Minster.

Are there things for the kids to do on site?

Family Fest is known for bringing families and the community together and offers a safe enclosed environment for families with young children. As a small festival, there are no crowds, queues or pushing which makes it the perfect family friendly event. The event caters for all ages from 0 to 100+ and we can confirm that we will have a funfair, inflatable zone, archery and crazy golf which is confirmed for 2021.

What are the bus prices?

Regular commercial fares will apply and local bus companies will be happy to help point you in the cheapest options available. Both morebus routes 3, 4 and 13 and Yellow Buses route 6 are regular network services and all existing applicable day tickets, weekly tickets and concessionary passes will be accepted. Local bus companies also provide alternative ways to pay: cash, contactless, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Mobile App. For futher information, visit

Will there be a pick up / drop off point?

There will be a desiganted pick up / drop off area at our festival site for anyone wishing to drive friends or relatives to or collect them from this years Family Fest. For safety of other road users and walkers, please refrain from stopping anywhere on main B3078 (Julian's Road) and instead please use the pick up / drop off area. There will be signs to direct you.

Is there disabled parking on site?

Yes, we will have disabled parking available on site. Please let one of the parking volunteers know when you enter the limited parking and they will do there upmost to find you the best possible parking space near the main enterance. Please note that due to the rural nature of the festival site, the festival is based on grass.

What are the rules for photography?

As a small festival, we allow photography on site and feel free to tag us via social media - Facebook & Instagram @familyfestdorset - and we will share your moments from our festival. By entering the festival site, you give your permission for any photos taken by our photographers to be used across future marketing and promotional activity for our festival.

Can I bring a Child's tent or shelter?

Children’s tents, gazebos, windbreaks or any other tented structures will not be permitted. We don’t unfortunately have the required space for people to bring tented structures and they unfortunately pose a trip hazard to people moving around the site as well as being unsafe in the case of strong winds.

2021 Festival

What is the 2021 festival dates?

Our 2021 festival is taking place on the first weekend of the Dorset Summer holidays, 24th & 25th July 2021, with the addition of a Drive-In Cinema on the 26th July.

What time does the festival site open and close?

The festival site is open from 11am to 7pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Food & Drink

Can I bring my own food and drink onto the festival site?

We recommned using our catering suppliers on site who provide affordbale food and drink options and we ask that you refrain from bringing your own food on site to support these traders. Bring a blanket and relax with the family in front of our main stage from our food corner. We will not have any table or chairs available on-site to sit at, so in the event of great british weather, be readily available to sit on the wet grass or stand.

Will there be catering available on site?

Yes, we can confirm that we will have a variety of local food, hot and cold, available from suppliers including vegetarian options. Our list includes: - Jacket Potatoes - Burgers and Hot Dogs - Nachos - Ice Cream

Will there be a licensed bar on site?

We are excited to bring a small licensed bar on site after feedback from our first two festivals. The bar can be found near the main stage and will be open for the duration of the weekend. Please note that I.D will be required at the bar if you are lucky enough to look under 25. Please refrain from bringing your own alcohol on site and use the bar available.

Can I bring my own alcohol into the event?

Due to licensing restrictions, you are not permitted to bring alcohol into the festival. There will be a range of premium alcoholic (and non-alcoholic) drinks available for purchase from our bar and catering outlets. Only alcohol purchased from the licensed bar may be consumed on site. Please DO NOT attempt to bring alcohol into the site – we have the right to confiscate it.

2021 Tickets

What is included in the ticket?

Your ticket includes entry to the family fest event site, live music across two stages and an event programme. Please note that there will be fees across the site for other activities.

Why is there two ticket options for each day?

As a small community event, we have decided to give the choice with two ticket options: 11-3 ticket or 3-7 ticket for both the Saturday and Sunday. If you wish to attend the whole day, please buy both ticket options for the number of people attending in your party. Full terms and conditions can be found via

Does the ticket include car parking?

Sadly purchasing a ticket doesn't guarantee a parking space. Car parking on-site is limited. When you buy a ticket, you aren't guaranteed a parking space within our on-site car park and we recommend coming by bike, walking or bus. In the event that the car park is full when you arrive, the nearest parking is available in Wimborne Minster town centre, a 10-minute walk from the site. Please do not park on Julian's Road at any time.

Which is your refund policy for tickets?

Tickets are only refundable if we cancel the event. If we postpone the event due to Covid-19, we will offer you the chance to carry over your tickets to the new event. You will be given a fixed period in which to tell us you cannot make the new date and require a refund, after this period we will no longer be liable to refund your tickets. We reserve the right to cancel the event on certain grounds. We reserve the right to make alterations to the attractions, activities, music, dates, times, venue location and introduce restrictions on activity if advised by the government or the local council/ statutory authority. We will not cancel the event on the grounds of poor weather, poor ground conditions or other limiting factors that do not prevent the event from opening. We will only ever refund your ticket value and any booking fees or card fees will not be refunded. We will never be liable for any travel, accommodation or other third-party costs you may have incurred as a result of the cancellation. Full details can be found via
