When will the 2021 applications for trading open?

Can I become a volunteer?

2021 Festival

Can I bring dogs/guide dogs on site?

We are happy for responsible dog owners to bring their dogs into the festival site. All dogs must be on leads at all times, due to the nature of the event site and the event taking place to fields full of cattle. Take part in our 2021 charity dog show by Waggy Tails. Please clean up after your dog and if your dog is off of the lead, you will be asked to leave the festival site immediately. Guide dogs are always accepted.

Is there a printed brochure available?

Yes! Our printed brochure will be given to every ticket holder at the gate when you recieve your wristband for your tickets. The 2021 programe includes scheduled events, site information and more. Please recycle the brochure where you can once you have finished with it.

Is there camping available on site across the weekend?

For 2021 we will not have a campsite available on site but there are local campsites, hotels and B&B's available if you would like to make a weekend of it. Visit for more information.

What is the 2021 festival dates?

Our 2021 festival is taking place on the first weekend of the Dorset Summer holidays, 24th & 25th July 2021. Buy your 2021 tickets today!

Is there an enterance fee?

Entry is £1 for anyone aged 6 years old or over. 5 years old and under are free entry. Buy your tickets for 2021.

What time does the festival site open and close?

The festival site is open from 11am to 7pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Is there a cash machine available on site?

Due to the rural location, there is no cashpoint available on site. The nearest cash point can be found in Wimborne Square which is around a 10-minute walk from the site. Note: Some traders will have card machines but we highly recommend bringing cash with you on the day.

Where is the festival site situated?

Family Fest is based at The Meadows, Julian's Road, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 3DH (next to Julian's Bridge). Click here for the Google Maps directions. Use what3words phrase stay.ruling.airfields via the what3words app.

Will I be able to come and go during the day?

Due to this years event being ticketed, you will be able to come and go during the day but you must have the correct ticket for the time of day with two ticket options and time for each day. You can find full details here.

Are there things for the kids to do on site?

Family Fest is known for bringing families and the community together and offers a safe enclosed environment for families with young children. As a small festival, there are no crowds, queues or pushing which makes it the perfect family friendly event. The event caters for all ages from 0 to 100+ and we can confirm that we will have a funfair and inflatable zone, friends and family fun zone including crazy golf, cave & rock wall, mascot appearances by special characters and more across the weekend. What are the rules for photography?

As a small festival, we allow photography on site and feel free to tag us via social media - Facebook & Instagram @familyfestdorset - and we will share your moments from our festival. By entering the festival site, you give your permission for any photos taken by our photographers to be used across future marketing and promotional activity for our festival.

Can I bring a Child's tent or shelter?

Children’s tents, gazebos, windbreaks or any other tented structures will not be permitted. We don’t unfortunately have the required space for people to bring tented structures and they unfortunately pose a trip hazard to people moving around the site as well as being unsafe in the case of strong winds.

Where do I report a missing child or vulnerable adult?

In the event that a child or vulnerable adult goes missing on site, please report this to a festival maker who is available across the site (in bright orange t-shirts) who will be able to assist further and let the rest of the event team know important details. Our lost children point can be found on the right of the entrance (as you walk onto site), at our 2021 information point.

Food & Drink

Can I bring my own food and drink onto the festival site?

We recommned using our catering suppliers on site who provide affordbale food and drink options and we ask that you refrain from bringing your own food on site to support these traders. Bring a blanket and relax with the family in front of the Hot Stage from our food corner. We will not have any table or chairs available on-site to sit at, so in the event of great british weather, be readily available to sit on the wet grass or stand.

Will there be catering available on site?

Yes, we can confirm that we will have a variety of local food, hot and cold, available from suppliers including vegetarian options. Our list includes: - Burgers and Hot Dogs - Chips - Mexican Food - Chicken Wraps We will add to this list as traders continue to confirm and book with us for 2021.

Will there be a licensed bar on site?

Yes! We are extremely excited to welcome the first year of a small licensed bar on site based next to Hot Stage which will be open for the duration of the event. Please drink responsibly and remember we are a family event. Please note that I.D will be required at the bar if you are lucky enough to look under 25. Please refrain from bringing your own alcohol on site and use the bar available.

Can I bring my own alcohol into the event?

Due to licensing restrictions, you are not permitted to bring alcohol into the festival. There will be a range of premium alcoholic (and non-alcoholic) drinks available for purchase from our bar and catering outlets. Only alcohol purchased from the licensed bar may be consumed on site. Please DO NOT attempt to bring alcohol into the site – we have the right to confiscate it.

2021 Tickets

What is included in the ticket?

Your ticket includes entry to the family fest event site, live music from local artists across two stages and an official event brochure. Please note that there will be fees across the site for other activities.

Why is there two ticket options for each day?

As a small community event, we have decided to give the choice with two ticket options: 11-3 ticket or 3-7 ticket for both the Saturday and Sunday. If you wish to attend the whole day, please buy both ticket options for the number of people attending in your party. Full terms and conditions can be found via

Does the ticket include car parking?

Sadly purchasing a ticket doesn't guarantee a parking space. Car parking on-site is limited. When you buy a ticket, you aren't guaranteed a parking space within our on-site car park and we recommend coming by bike, walking or bus. In the event that the car park is full when you arrive, the nearest parking is available in Wimborne Minster town centre, a 10-minute walk from the site. Please do not park on Julian's Road at any time.

Which is your refund policy for tickets?

Tickets are only refundable if we cancel the event. If we postpone the event due to Covid-19, we will offer you the chance to carry over your tickets to the new event. You will be given a fixed period in which to tell us you cannot make the new date and require a refund, after this period we will no longer be liable to refund your tickets. We reserve the right to cancel the event on certain grounds. We reserve the right to make alterations to the attractions, activities, music, dates, times, venue location and introduce restrictions on activity if advised by the government or the local council/ statutory authority. We will not cancel the event on the grounds of poor weather, poor ground conditions or other limiting factors that do not prevent the event from opening. We will only ever refund your ticket value and any booking fees or card fees will not be refunded. We will never be liable for any travel, accommodation or other third-party costs you may have incurred as a result of the cancellation. Full details can be found via

How much are tickets on the day of the event?

If you are lucky to find that we have availability on the day of the event, tickets will be £2 on the day. These must be brought via our website at Tickets will be changed to £2 24 hours before the event, so please make sure that you secure your tickets early.

Travelling to Family Fest

Is parking available on site?

There is limited parking available at the festival site and is on a first come, first served basis and this is free of charge. Alternative parking can be found in Wimborne Minster Town which is around a 10-minute walk from the site but please note that there is no footpath at Julian's Bridge. Please do not park adjacent to the festival site in any laybys or on the verges along the B3078, Julian's Road.

Is there a bus route available to the festival site?

Yellow Buses provides bus services to Wimborne Square from Bournemouth (a 10-15 minute walk). Route 6, alight at Wimborne Square*, from Merley, Bearwood, Wallisdown & Bournemouth. Connecting with our shuttle bus which is free for 2021. Find details via Website: morebus provides bus services in and around the Wimborne area from Poole and Bournemouth with some routes providing access to the festival site while others stop in Wimborne Square (a 10 to 15-minute walk). Route 3 & 4, alight at Julian's Road, from Broadstone, Corfe Mullen & Poole. Route 13, alight at Wimborne Square*, from Colehill, Parley Cross and Bournemouth. What are the bus prices?

Regular commercial fares will apply and local bus companies will be happy to help point you in the cheapest options available. Both Yellow Buses route 6 and morebus routes 3, 4 and 13 are regular network services and all existing applicable day tickets, weekly tickets and concessionary passes will be accepted. Local bus companies also provide alternative ways to pay: cash, contactless, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Mobile App. For futher information, visit

Will there be a pick up / drop off point?

There will be a desiganted pick up / drop off area at our festival site for anyone wishing to drive friends or relatives to or collect them from this years Family Fest. For safety of other road users and walkers, please refrain from stopping anywhere on main B3078 (Julian's Road) and instead please use the pick up / drop off area. There will be signs to direct you.

Is there disabled parking on site?

Yes, we will have disabled parking available on site. Please let one of the parking volunteers know when you enter the limited parking and they will do there upmost to find you the best possible parking space near the main entrance. Disabled parking bays aren't marked on site and our team will do what they can to find a suitable place for you to park. Please note that due to the rural nature of the festival site, the festival is based on grass.

Is there a shuttle bus service?

We are proud to have partnered with our 2021 travel partner (Yellow Buses) and providing a connection service from Route 6 from Bournemouth, Bournemouth Rail Station, Winton, Bournemouth University, Wallisdown, Bearwood and Merley with our festival shuttle bus which is free for 2021. Simply show your day, weekly or monthly pass to the driver of the shuttle service, along with a digital or printed version of your 2021 ticket for our event, and you will be dropped off in style directly to the festival site. Please note that on Sunday, the last route 6 from Wimborne is 17:20 and so the afternoon ticket holders won't be able to use this route back to Bournemouth. The shuttle bus will drop you off in Wimborne Square at 18:05 and 19:05 as in the timetable. For full details, visit

Can I cycle to the event?

Of course! While we don't have direct locking facilities, we love families who ride by their won bikes and would love to see you this July. For the weekend only, we have a Beryl bay on site which is available from 11-7 on both days and for every person who rides in on a Beryl from Bournemouth, Poole or Merley will receive 30 minutes free travel on the app. Full details via
