Chosen charity announcement: We're supporting Cherry Tree Nursery & YMCA Bournemouth for 2021

Since our small festival began in 2018, we have raised over £1,000 for local charities via contributions, donations, collections, and raffles and we are extremely proud of this.

Each year Family Fest chooses a different charity to support and usually we choose one charity but after the tremendous year 2020 has been, we are proud to be supporting two local charities close to our hearts.

Founder and event director of Family Fest, said: 'We are proud to be supporting local charities Cherry Tree Nursery and YMCA Bournemouth for 2021. Both charities are local to the area and we will be supporting them throughout 2021 including collecting donations, promoting the charities, and other beneficial raising efforts.'

He went on to say, 'Our aim is to bring families and the community together, and our chosen charities support a variety of ages including young people and the elderly. For the latest fundraising efforts for the charities and more, visit our official social platforms or our website where you can find out all about the charities we're supporting.'

Ray, event co-ordinator at Cherry Tree Nursery said; ''We are really pleased to have been chosen as one of the two official charities for Family Fest 2021.'

He went on to say; 'Covid 19 has affected us significantly this year, when we were closed during lockdown we lost out on vital revenue at what should have been 'our Christmas,' our busiest, and most important time of the year. Being involved with FF21 will not only be extremely important in fundraising next year, but it will also give our volunteers something to look forward to'

Martin, Senior Operations Manager at YMCA Bournemouth said; “YMCA Bournemouth, Poole & Christchurch are immensely thankful for being one of the two official charities for Family Fest 2021.'

He went on to say; 'Yes, 2020 has significantly and negatively affected the income streams of our charity, this has had led to difficult decisions being made in many of our sites/services. However, we have faced hardship before and therefore we choose to ‘fight’.'

'We choose to fight for the right of all individuals/families to lead positive, fulfilling, and safe lives in our local communities.  Family Fest 2021 we will extremely look forward to, and to YMCA playing its part in ensuring this event is part of the ‘fightback’ and challenge we know is upon us.”

As a festival team, we are proud to be supporting these two local charities and you can find full information via our official website at
